ABOUT POCKETGAP

Train the silence.

PocketGap is a free browser-based gap-click metronome designed to help drummers test and strengthen their internal clock.

Why PocketGap exists

A normal metronome tells you where every beat is. PocketGap deliberately removes that support for a chosen number of bars. You keep the groove moving, then use the returning click as honest feedback about your tempo.

How the practice method works

The practice loop stays on one continuous timeline: audible bars establish the pulse, silent bars test it, and the next audible bar reveals any drift. Tempo, time signature, subdivision, and the number of audible and silent bars can all be adjusted to match the exercise.

Designed for focused practice

PocketGap runs entirely in the browser. Practice settings and session history stay on the current device, the core practice experience works offline after it has loaded, and no account is required to use the metronome.

Creator

PocketGap was created and is maintained by Michel Araujo, a drummer and product designer who wanted a direct, distraction-free way to practice the space between clicks.
